MAINTAINING BRICK PAVERS
Regular Cleaning
Sweep your pavers regularly to remove dirt, leaves, and debris that can accumulate and cause stains. Occasional washing with water or a mild detergent helps remove grime and keeps your outdoor space looking its best.
Weed Control
Monitor for weeds growing between the joints and remove them promptly. Using joint stabilizing sand or a weed preventer can significantly reduce weed growth.
Re-Sanding Joints
Over time, the sand between paver joints may wash away. Reapply polymeric or joint sand as needed to maintain stability and prevent shifting.
Addressing Stains
Clean spills such as oil, grease, or food immediately to avoid permanent discoloration. For tougher stains, use a cleaner specifically designed for pavers.
Seal the Surface
Apply a sealant every 2–3 years to protect against fading, staining, and weather damage. This also enhances color and increases durability.
Inspect for Shifting or Unevenness
Check periodically for pavers that have shifted or become uneven due to settling. These can be corrected by removing the affected pavers, leveling the base, and reinstalling them.
Control Water Drainage
Ensure proper drainage around the paver area to prevent water pooling, which can lead to erosion or displacement.
Avoid Heavy Impact
Avoid dropping heavy objects on the surface, as this can crack or damage the pavers.
